Existence with いる vs. ある

The verbs (iruiruいるイル) and (aruaruあるアル) both express existence, corresponding to "to be" or "there is/are" in English. The choice between them depends entirely on whether the subject is animate (living and can move) or inanimate (non-living or cannot move on its own).

01

The Core Distinction: Animate vs. Inanimate

Use (iruiruいるイル) for subjects that are considered animate. This primarily includes people and animals.
