Thai question words go where the answer would be — no word order change needed. The main ones are (à·rai) — what, (kraikhraikhrai) — who, (nǎi) — where, (tam·maitham·maitham·mai) — why, (yang·ngai) — how, and (gìikìkì) — how many.
Simply substitute the unknown with the question word: (nîi à·rainî à·rainî à·rai) — what is this?, (bpai nǎipai nǎipai nǎi) — where are you going?
