(yěㄧㄝˇyeh3) means "also" or "too" and always goes before the verb, never at the end of the sentence: (tā yě zài shuì·jiàoㄊㄚ ㄧㄝˇ ㄗㄞˋ ㄕㄨㄟˋ·ㄐㄧㄠˋt'a1 yeh3 tsai4 shui4·chiao4) — he is also sleeping. With negation, (yěㄧㄝˇyeh3) comes first: (wǒ yě bù zhī·dàoㄨㄛˇ ㄧㄝˇ ㄅㄨˋ ㄓ·ㄉㄠˋwo3 yeh3 pu4 chih1·tao4) — I don't know either.
In the pattern A (yěㄧㄝˇyeh3)...B (yěㄧㄝˇyeh3)..., it means "both A and B."
