It functions as a marker of assertion, notification, or conviction, essentially telling the listener, "Hey, you should know this." The tone can range from a simple, helpful notification to a strong, forceful command, depending on the context and intonation.

Learners often confuse (yoyoよヨ) with (neneねネ). The key difference lies in shared information.
- Use (yoyoよヨ) when you assume the listener does not know the information. It's a one-way notification from speaker to listener.
- Use (neneねネ) when you assume the listener already knows the information and you are seeking agreement or confirmation. It creates a sense of shared experience.

- Attaching (yoyoよヨ) to the polite -masu/-desu form (e.g., (ikimasu yoikimasu yoいきます よイキマス ヨ)) is polite and can be used by anyone in a wide range of situations.
