-luunniit: Or, Even, At All

-luunniit is attached to the end of a word, like -lu "and", and joins the same way: a q becomes r and a t becomes l before it. It means "or", "even", or "at all".

01

Or

Between two choices, it means "or".

  • Susunnittoq illigineruiuk? Sukkulaat immaqaluunniit vanilje?

Which flavor do you prefer? Vanilla or chocolate? (immaqa "maybe" + -luunniit: "or")

02

Even

On an "if" verb, it means "even if".

  • Kaffisoraluarumaluunniit suli sinilertarpunga.

Even if I drink coffee, I still fall asleep.

03

At All, Anything

With a question word, it gives "anything, anywhere at all".

  • Susinnaavorluunniit. Sumulluunniit iluaqutaasinnaavoq.

It can do everything. There is nothing it can't do. (sumut + -luunniit: lit. it is useful for anything at all)
