When an indirect object pronoun (to whom/for whom) and a direct object pronoun (what) are used together with the same verb, they combine into a single unit. These combined forms, known as "pronomi doppi" or "pronomi combinati," follow specific rules for order and form.
01
The Basic Structure: Indirect Before Direct
The fundamental rule is that the indirect object pronoun always comes before the direct object pronoun. This structure creates a more fluid and natural-sounding sentence.
Indirect Pronoun + Direct Pronoun + Verb

They promised it to us.

Diccelo!
Tell it to us!
Faglielo sapere.
