With some describing words it says that something happens to a person, usually more than they would like.

• panas hot - kepanasan to be too hot

Seen and Heard

On dengar it means that something can be heard, and so that it sounds a certain way.

• dengar to hear - kedengaran to sound (like)

kelihatan (to look, to seem) works the same way.
