The particle (rororolo) or (ŭ·roeu·roŭ·rou·lo) is a versatile suffix attached to nouns. It primarily indicates the method, tool, or means used to perform an action. It can also indicate direction, ingredients, or a person's role.
01
Formation Rules
The choice between (rororolo) and (ŭ·roeu·roŭ·rou·lo) depends on the final letter of the noun it attaches to.
1. Nouns ending in a vowel
Add (rororolo).
- (chʰachach'acha) - car + (rororolo) = (chʰa·rocha·roch'a·rocha·lo)
- (ki·chʰagi·chaki·ch'aki·cha) - train + (rororolo) = (ki·chʰa·rogi·cha·roki·ch'a·roki·cha·lo)
2. Nouns ending in a consonant (batchim)
Add (ŭ·roeu·roŭ·rou·lo). This extra vowel makes pronunciation smoother.
- (tʰŭ·rŏkteu·reokt'ŭ·rŏkthu·lek) - truck + (ŭ·roeu·roŭ·rou·lo) = (tʰŭ·rŏ·gŭ·roteu·reo·geu·rot'ŭ·rŏ·gŭ·rothu·le·ku·lo)
- (pʰenpenp'enpheyn) - pen + (ŭ·roeu·roŭ·rou·lo) = (pʰe·nŭ·rope·neu·rop'e·nŭ·rophey·nu·lo)
3. The 'ㄹ' Exception
If a noun ends in the consonant (l), do not add the extra vowel. Treat it like a vowel ending and simply add (rororolo).
