The imperative mood is used to give commands, make requests, offer advice, or provide instructions. It addresses someone directly. The form of the verb changes depending on who is being addressed: an informal "you" (), a group ("we" or "let's," ), "y'all" (), or a formal "you" ().

Affirmative Imperative: Regular Verbs
To form a positive command, you conjugate the verb based on its ending (-ARE, -ERE, or -IRE) and the person you are addressing.
For tu (you, informal)
-ARE verbs use the ending -a. This is the same as the third-person singular () in the present tense.
Parla più forte, per favore.
Speak louder, please.
-ERE and -IRE verbs use the ending -i. This is the same as the second-person singular () in the present tense.

Read this book.
Apri la finestra.

For noi (we / let's)
The imperative is identical to the present tense form. It expresses a suggestion or invitation for a group including the speaker, similar to "Let's..." in English.

Let's go to the movies tonight!
Mangiamo una pizza.
Let's eat a pizza.
For voi (y'all / you plural)
